Description

For over 45 Years we have been a specialized utility contractor across Southwestern/Central Pennsylvania. Our areas of expertise include water and wastewater infrastructure development as well as bridge construction. We have been recognized both locally and nationally for our work in the utility construction industry.

We are in search of a seasoned candidate to fill the position of a truck driver/yard assistant and willing to join the exceptional team in our family-owned business. The position is based out of our Export, PA location. We provide flexible scheduling with full-time and part-time positions available. We have our own equipment fleet to perform our projects. The extensive equipment fleet is managed in-house by our Shop team.

Description

Supports the team in our heavy equipment shop - Mechanics, Painting, Small Engines, Drivers, and Welding. Prior general knowledge of construction heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Organizing equipment in the yard and supply warehouse, keeping the equipment lot cleaned and organized, delivering parts, and assisting the parts and service departments with other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Works with the Equipment Manager and Yard Supervisor on the status of inventory.
  • Gathers the necessary equipment, tools, and supplies to send to various construction site locations.
  • Operates a loader and forklift as needed.
  • Check vehicles daily to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Tie down loads appropriately and always inspect before transport.
  • Work between the main shop and foremen to deliver loads.
  • Help keep track of equipment location.
  • Work with Equipment Manager to arrange transport of equipment.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
  • Have a firm understanding of the area we serve and be willing to learn all of the jobsite locations
  • Perform additional assignments as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with construction background.
  • Able to measure and perform basic calculations.
  • Maintain a valid class A CDL or B License.
  • Familiar with operation of construction equipment.
  • Must have operational knowledge of all construction equipment to be transported and able to load and unload equipment from trailers.
