Summary/Objective
Operate heavy equipment (Excavators) to dig large excavation projects. Must be willing to labor on all projects as well.
General Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned and stored in a safe manner.
- Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
- This is a labor-intensive job. Gathering & loading materials, tools and equipment; job site setup and teardown, carpentry skills – other laboring construction duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
- Must be familiar with OSHA required excavation practices.
Qualifications:
- Large Excavators- safely and efficiently operate
- General Labor as needed
- Minimum of 2 years' experience on large excavation projects.
- 2-5 years construction experience preferred.
- Pass Pre-employment drug screen/physical and criminal background check
- Be willing to work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs unassisted; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb and twist continuously throughout the day
- Valid driver’s license/CDL a plus (MVR will be checked for company insurance policy)
- Ability to travel and stay overnight for out-of-town projects
- General carpentry, welding, plumbing and electrical skills highly preferred
