Summary/Objective

Operate heavy equipment (Excavators) to dig large excavation projects. Must be willing to labor on all projects as well.

General Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned and stored in a safe manner.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
  • This is a labor-intensive job. Gathering & loading materials, tools and equipment; job site setup and teardown, carpentry skills – other laboring construction duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
  • Must be familiar with OSHA required excavation practices.

Qualifications:

  • Large Excavators- safely and efficiently operate
  • General Labor as needed
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience on large excavation projects.
  • 2-5 years construction experience preferred.
  • Pass Pre-employment drug screen/physical and criminal background check
  • Be willing to work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs unassisted; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb and twist continuously throughout the day
  • Valid driver’s license/CDL a plus (MVR will be checked for company insurance policy)
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight for out-of-town projects
  • General carpentry, welding, plumbing and electrical skills highly preferred
